Composition for the Waiting Room
Composition for the Waiting Room is a project comprising nearly 100 photograms, created without the use of a camera by placing objects directly onto light-sensitive paper. This series is an outcome of my cooperation with Nukleomed, a medical clinic specializing in nuclear medicine, with the intention of providing a comforting atmosphere for their patients, particularly those affected by cancer or belonging to high-risk groups.
Throughout the creative process, my focus was on crafting neutral and abstract compositions that would evoke a sense of tranquility and avoid triggering negative associations. By incorporating various elements such as medical glass, flowers, and other small objects, I aimed to create visual patterns that would resonate with viewers without imposing specific narratives.
To ensure the efficacy of my artistic choices, we collaborated with a dedicated psychologist who provided insights and consultations regarding the reception of the works. Taking into consideration the psychological states of the viewers, we refined the compositions to foster a soothing environment.
Works are available for sale as edition of prints (ed. 1/8) in various sizes.
