PYROMANIAC’S MANUAL

CONCEPT ● PHOTOGRAPHY ● ART DIRECTION ● BOOK ● FILM

Aesthetic pleasure one experiences while observing any kind of destruction is no secret to those familiar with Ada Zielinska’s work. However, Pyromaniac’s Manual isn’t merely a selection of photographed burning cars; it is also an invitation to enjoy close contact with the most fascinating of elements – fire.

PORSCHE SCOPES: Hide&Seek

CONCEPT | ART DIRECTION | INSTALLATION

A car that is to be known as the one we use every day first comes disguised. It must live through its possible life before it even gets to the starting line, and to that end it first enters a road during its ghost phase. When a brand new car is road tested, it is wrapped in camouflage clothing - a patterned film that makes its shape and brand unrecognisable. This phase is also the most exciting part of the process of bringing a car to life, both for motorsport fans and the engineers who work on it.
Hide & Seek tells a story about the birth of a car,
a moment before it is shown to the world. Inspired by the car's camouflage and the 1966 911 Plunge Drop Crash Test, the installation takes viewers through two of the most exciting moments in the life of a Porsche. Say hello to the heavy-breathing Ghost in the first room and Death guiding a car through automotive Limbo in the  second one.

Drive carefully.

PORSCHE: Sunken Romance

CONCEPT | ART DIRECTION | INSTALLATION | FILM

Sunken Romance is an interdisciplinary project initiated in collaboration with Rafał Dominik. Commissioned by Porsche, we were tasked with creating an art installation for the Gdynia Design Days Festival. The result was a striking coral reef-covered Porsche 911, suspended from a crane in the Gdynia seaport, as if it had just been retrieved from the depths of the sea.

The installation drew inspiration from the process of creating artificial coral reefs, which often form on sunken ships, old metro cars, and other metal and concrete structures. This piece highlighted the beauty and mystery of underwater ecosystems while transforming an iconic car into an extraordinary work of art.

After the installation was taken down, we partnered with filmmaker Dominik Panasiuk to develop the concept further into a film. The idea of Carrera Mermaids emerged, and with the continued support of Porsche, we crafted a stunning fairy tale that seamlessly blends film and 3D worlds.

Compositions for the Waiting Room

CONCEPT | EXECUTION

Composition for the Waiting Room is a project comprising nearly 100 photograms, created without the use of a camera by placing objects directly onto light-sensitive paper. This series is an outcome of my cooperation with Nukleomed, a medical clinic specializing in nuclear medicine, with the intention of providing a comforting atmosphere for their patients, particularly those affected by cancer or belonging to high-risk groups.

Throughout the creative process, my focus was on crafting neutral and abstract compositions that would evoke a sense of tranquility and avoid triggering negative associations. By incorporating various elements such as medical glass, flowers, and other small objects, I aimed to create visual patterns that would resonate with viewers without imposing specific narratives.

To ensure the efficacy of my artistic choices, we collaborated with a dedicated psychologist who provided insights and consultations regarding the reception of the works. Taking into consideration the psychological states of the viewers, we refined the compositions to foster a soothing environment.
